Michelle Rocqet is a versatile artist based in New York City, wearing multiple hats as a Composer, Librettist, Educator, Recording Artist, and Sound Designer. Her artistic journey unfolded within the vibrant DIY Scene in Denver, Colorado, where she passionately honed her storytelling craft from 2010 to 2023. An alumna of Berklee College of Music (NYC), Michelle holds a B.S. in Music Entertainment & Industry Studies, boasting a double emphasis in Recording Arts and Commercial Vocal Performance.


Furthering her education, she earned an M.A. in Creative Media Technology, specializing in Writing & Design for Musical Theater. Currently, Michelle is expanding her expertise as a post-masters fellow at BerkleeNYC for the academic year 23-24. At the core of Michelle's artistic expression is a deep passion for storytelling through sound. As a Korean-American artist, she brings a unique perspective to her work, infusing her creations with diverse cultural influences. In her professional life, Michelle has served as a Full-Time Teaching Artist and was eventually served as the Director of Creative Youth Development and Success at the non-profit organization Youth on Record. Through her role, she actively contributes to the development and empowerment of young talents in the creative realm. One of Michelle's notable contributions is her role as a writer and music director for Phamaly Theatre Company’s disability-affirmative retelling of Alice in Wonderland. Collaborating with the experimental hip-hop band Wheelchair Sports Camp, she not only lent her creative talents but also earned writing and producing credits for this groundbreaking production.

Michelle Rocqet's commitment to artistic innovation has garnered recognition, as she is a grant recipient of both the Denver Music Advancement Fund and the New York State Council on the Arts.
